In 1886 Henry Westmoreland and his family came to the Oklahoma Panhandle from Springfield, Mo. Westmoreland established the original branch of Vantine-Landess Ranch on Coldwater Creek in Oklahoma. Since 1886, the ranch has been passed down through seven generations. Bill and Suzy Landess and their two sons, Mark and Stratton Landess, currently reside on and manage the ranch. In 1997 the family acquired additional acreage near Black Mesa. Today Vantine-Landess Ranch consists of 25,000 exquisite acres stretching across Oklahoma and Colorado.
A rich ranching heritage continues at the Vantine-Landess Ranch. The Landess family maintains the same traditional ranching practices and land preservation techniques that their ancestors utilized over 120 years ago.
