Kenton Ranch, Baca County Colorado
The elevation of this 8,400 acre territory varies dramatically reaching over 5,000 ft on the high flat top mesas, and dropping to approximately 4,400 feet in the lower valleys and canyons. Several creeks cross the ranch; an abundance of live water is found in the Carrizo Creek year round. The Furnish and Blacksmith Creeks are spring fed and have intermittent areas of live water with numerous pools throughout. The incredible diversity of the terrain creates ideal winter cover for wild game.

This territory is rich in Mule Deer and is also home to mountain lion, bobcat, beaver, Black Bear, quail, duck, Big Horn sheep, wild turkey and plentiful antelope. The creeks that run throughout the ranch provide opportunity for year round recreational fishing of bass and catfish.

Several options are available for our guests to customize their experience at the Vantine-Landess Ranch. Contact us for more information on setting up the Hunt of a Lifetime.

The Landess family strives to maintain the rich ranching heritage that was instigated over 120 years ago with the founding of the ranch. Traditional ranching practices and land preservation techniques are used today to protect the health of the land and animals that are the heart of the Vantine-Landess Ranch.
